This Privacy Policy explains how Rebel Auction Co. ("Rebel Auction," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Rebel Inspect mobile application (the "App") and the associated inspection management portal (together, the "Service"). The Service is an internal tool used by Rebel Auction personnel to conduct heavy-equipment inspections. 1. Who the Service is for
Rebel Inspect is provided to authorized Rebel Auction inspectors and staff. Accounts are provisioned and managed by Rebel Auction administrators; the App does not offer public sign-up. You sign in with a corporate Google account issued or approved by Rebel Auction.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to perform and manage equipment inspections:
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address to authenticate you and associate your work with your account. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Inspection photos. Photos you capture with the camera, or select from your photo library, to document the condition of machines.
- Operational video and audio. If you choose to record the optional operational video clip, the App captures video and its accompanying audio so engine and hydraulic operation can be reviewed.
- Location. With your permission, the App records the GPS location of the first photo of each inspection so the inspected machine can be placed on a map. Location is captured only while you are using the App and only at the moment that photo is taken.
- Inspection records. Machine details, question responses, ratings, data fields, and related notes you enter during an inspection.
- Diagnostic information. If you use the in-App "Report a Problem" or "Export Diagnostic Logs" feature, the report includes your app version, sync status, and recent error logs, along with your work email. Diagnostic reports do not include inspection photos.
We do not use third-party advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking, and we do not collect information about other apps installed on your device.
3. How we use information
- To authenticate you and provide access to the Service.
- To create, store, and manage equipment inspection records.
- To generate inspection reports (including PDFs) and, when you choose to send one, to deliver it by email to the recipients you select.
- To locate inspected machines on a map.
- To diagnose problems, maintain security, and improve the reliability of the Service.
We use information only for the purposes described above. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing.
4. How information is shared
Information is shared only as needed to operate the Service:
- Within Rebel Auction. Inspection data is available to authorized Rebel Auction personnel through the inspection management portal.
- Service providers. We use Google for sign-in, cloud hosting providers to run the Service, and an email delivery provider to send inspection reports. These providers process information on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
- Report recipients. When you send an inspection report, its contents are delivered to the email recipients you designate.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Rebel Auction, our users, or others.
5. Data storage and security
Inspection data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and stored on secure cloud servers. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device. We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
6. Data retention
We retain inspection records and related information for as long as needed to operate the Service and to meet Rebel Auction's business and legal requirements. Diagnostic logs are retained only as long as needed to troubleshoot issues.
7. Your choices and rights
- Permissions. You can grant or revoke the App's access to the camera, microphone, photo library, and location at any time in your device's Settings. Some features will not work without the relevant permission.
- Access and deletion. Because accounts are managed by Rebel Auction, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information—or ask that your account be removed—by contacting your administrator or using the details below. We will honor such requests as required by applicable law.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for use by adult Rebel Auction personnel. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the current version at this page.
